In 2022, amid a series of global crises, including food insecurity, conflict, high inflation, the effects of the pandemic, rising inequality, and the climate crisis, DDP played a key role in accelerating green, resilient, and inclusive digitalization. The digital and climate agenda has been front and center for DDP in 2022, which supported the Green Digital Transformation flagship report launched at COP27, unpacking the dual role of the digital sector as part of the climate change problem and climate action solution. While this report feeds into the global climate dialogue, DDP is also supporting the operationalization of this digital and green twin transition agenda to inform investments and build capacity among client countries. DDP was also instrumental in fostering the collaboration across the World Bank and IFC to unlock opportunities for integrating cutting-edge digital solutions across sectors – health, social protection, agriculture, urban development, education, and others.
