In November 2024, the Gates Foundation joined DDP 2.0 to advance gender-inclusive digital transformation globally. This collaboration emphasizes a shared commitment to addressing the systemic barriers that women and girls face in accessing and benefiting from digital technologies. By focusing on expanding digital access, enhancing digital skills, and ensuring online safety, the partnership leverages digital infrastructure and technologies to empower high impact productive use of digital connectivity, devices, and digital services among women and girls at scale in low- and middle-income countries.

In June 2024, Japan, represented by the Ministry of Finance, joined DDP 2.0. Japan's contribution reflects its strong belief that digitalization can be a major driver of global economic growth. By joining and contributing to DDP 2.0, Japan partners with the World Bank to support low and middle-income countries in addressing the digital divide by promoting the use of technologies.

In December 2023, the Federal Republic of Germany, represented by the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) joined DDP 2.0. Germany’s contribution to DDP 2.0 is aligned with BMZ’s digital global strategy, aiming to achieve a fair and sustainable digital transformation.

In July 2023, the Republic of Korea, represented by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, became the first partner to join the Digital Development Partnership 2.0. Their alliance aims to advance digital transformation in low and middle-income countries, establish strong digital foundations and accelerators, and facilitate digital use cases.

In December 2023, the Kingdom of Spain, represented by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprise, joined DDP 2.0, testifying to its commitment to building the foundations to promote the digitalization of services, economies, and societies.

In November 2023, the Kingdom of Sweden, represented by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) joined DDP 2.0. Sida’s contribution attests to its commitment to inclusive, equitable, and sustainable digital transformation in low- and middle-income countries by creating strong digital foundations and accelerators, fostering inclusive economic development and the creation of better jobs.
